Expertise

Christian joined Collas Day in 2003, having practised as a solicitor in the City for several years.  He was called to the Guernsey bar as an Advocate in 2006.  He has been a partner since 2007.  He heads up the firm's dispute resolution department.

Christian has broad experience of dispute resolution matters but specialising in financial services and property/construction sectors.

As well as acting for various local banks, trust companies and other financial services businesses on routine contentious issues, he has acted on some of the largest and most significant pieces of litigation to come before the Guernsey Courts in recent years: the contentious administration of Messenger Insurance PCC Limited; Cable & Wireless Plc v Valentine & Others; Cable & Wireless Guernsey v Office of Utility Regulation; Sir David and Sir Frederick Barclay v Trustees of Sark Island Hall; the administrations of Landsbanki (Guernsey) Limited; Messenger Insurance PCC Limited; Woolworths and Stylo PLC.

Christian is a member of the Guernsey International Lawyers Association, the Society for Construction Law, ACTAPS, the IoD and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.  He is also a CEDR accredited mediator.

Christian regularly lectures internally and externally to clients and relevant industry bodies on litigation issues.
